Scholarships

A limited number of need-based partial scholarships are available for students who demonstrate academic excellence. Full funding is not offered. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and awards are applied toward the Pre-College Program fee. Funds are limited, and do not cover the costs of textbooks or supplies. Students can apply for a scholarship as part of the application process.  The deadline for scholarship applications is April 1, 2025.

Employee Dependent Tuition Waivers

Any dependent of a Skidmore faculty or staff member may submit the Internal Tuition Grant Application directly to the Human Resources office. Once approved, you will receive an emailed confirmation.

Please note: Some courses have additional lab or material fees, which are listed on the top of the course descriptions. These fees are in addition to the costs outlined above and are not waived for employee dependents.

Refund Policy

Because faculty and staff salary commitments must be made in advance and the costs of plant operations are fixed, the College must follow a very limited refund policy. Appeals for refunds due to extenuating circumstances may be made in writing to the Program Director.

  • Application fees will not be refunded.
  • If Skidmore College cancels a program, all fees will be refunded.
  • Refund requests for tuition and program fee payments, less the program's non-refundable deposit, must be submitted to the Program Director, in writing, by Monday, June 16, 2025.

Support the Summer Pre-College Program

You can make a difference in a student's life. The Skidmore Pre-College Scholars Fund provides scholarships for talented high school students to attend our Pre-College Program, designed to prepare students for college success. Each summer, scholarships are awarded to select students who demonstrate financial need and academic merit who might not otherwise have such an opportunity. Your generous gift will go directly toward a scholarship for a high-achieving, economically disadvantaged high school student to experience the benefits of a college preparatory program, including getting a head start on college while earning credits and experiencing campus life.
