Feeling at home: Josh Maxwell ’26
“From the second I arrived at Skidmore, I felt like I was home,” says Josh Maxwell ’26, from Holliston, Massachusetts.
Josh says he had applied to several schools during his college search but found his place at Skidmore.

Josh has immersed himself in rich academic experiences across multiple disciplines, exceeding his own expectations. He is pursuing dual majors in political science and philosophy, complemented by double minors in international affairs and participation in the Periclean Honors Forum. He has excelled academically, a testament to his dedication and intellectual curiosity.
Beyond the classroom, Josh serves as vice president for financial affairs and chair of the Budget and Finance Committee for Skidmore's Student Government Association. In these roles, he enjoys engaging with club leaders, using creativity to tackle complex challenges, and advocating for his peers through his involvement on the Institutional Policy Planning Committee – an important College leadership committee.
Josh also serves as head admissions ambassador. “As a natural extrovert and someone who likes to help people, I truly enjoy connecting with prospective students and families and sharing why I love this place so much,” he says.
Looking ahead, Josh plans to attend law school after graduation; he aspires to leverage his education and co-curricular experiences into a career in government or law. Because of Skidmore's enriching environment and supportive community, Josh is ready to pursue his future with confidence and gratitude for the opportunities Skidmore has provided him.
